  • The first inhabitants of Ireland landed between 8,000 a.C. and 7000 a.C
  • The Celts arrived in Ireland and their arrival has had an impact on today's culture.
  • St. Patrick (the shamrock saint) was kidnapped and taken to Ireland as a slave when he was 16 years old. He built several churches around Ireland, showing them a 3-leaf shamrock (three divine persons in God: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). Therefore, giving Ireland its national symbol. St. Patrick left a lasting impact on Ireland, with St. Patrick's Day celebrated worldwide on March 17.
  • The Viking people arrived on the island in 975 AD but in 1014, Clontarf defeated him, becoming the greatest king of Ireland.
