READING BOOK: THE CANTERVILLE GHOST

CHAPTERS 1-2

- Ambassador: representative sent by a country to a foreing country.
- Appeared: when someone/something comes inmediatly.
- Carriage: type of transport.
- Pray: religious act for God.
- Stain: a dirty mark in a place that is difficult to clear.

CHAPTERS 3-4

- Remove: quit something
- Chains: a continuation of metal rings
- Footsteps: each movement of your foot when you are walking
- Cupboard: a furniture for keep clothes
- Wild: salvaje

CHAPTERS 5-6

- Lubricator: oily substance that is applied to the parts of a gear so that the friction is less or softer.
- Career: a preparation for a profession 
- Recovered: when you get something again
- Peashooter: an instrumment to throw small pieces

CHAPTERS 7-8

-Weak: not strong
-Dagger: a short knife with a pointed and edged blade, used as a weapon.
-Stab: push a knife into a person
-Corridor: a long passage in a building from which doors lead into rooms
-Sheet: piece of cloth used on the bed
-Speeches: formal talks given to an audience
-Humiliation: an act that leaves you in an embarrassing situation.

CHAPTERS 9-10

-Meadow: field
-Take care of...: attend to
-Disturb: interrupt
-Gate: doors in a fence or a wall
-Sins: inmortal acts
-Hell: terrible place where bad people go after death (according to some religions)

CHAPTERS 11-12

-Hope: expectation
-Tapestry: a piece of thick textile fabric with pictures or designs formed by weaving coloured 
-Coffin: wooden box for putting a dead body in strings
-Shone: was reflected
-Torches: burning pieces of wood used to give light
